Our mission is to empower Canadian and Gambian girls by providing them with an advanced education that is focused on service to humanity while at the same time providing international service-learning opportunities for the girls and our volunteers. Through collaborative sharing between Gambian and Canadian girls, gender equity issues are identified and examined through a lens of service. Utilizizing an Action, Reflection, Consultation and Study model, activities are focussed around a service project. We want our girls to serve others and believe through service the true nature of our character and issues are brought to a new level of understanding.
Our vision is to redefine global development in particular as it relates to education and gender equity for girls. We prefer to think of our work as inter-development, that is, thru the exchange of ideas, colloboartive service and thoughtful engagement of gender issues in Canada and abroad, we will elevate girls to a place of equality in the world. Every participant in our endeavor, including administrators, teachers, volunteers, and students, will be motivated by the end goal of service to humanity and challenged to find effective ways of infusing service to others into their daily work.
"The difference between a broken community and a thriving one is the presence of women who are valued."
